Uploading contacts is an optional feature that helps you build and manage your contacts on SharEat.
Using contact upload
You can choose to sync your device’s address book to see which of your contacts are already on SharEat, so you can quickly invite friends or share orders with them.
Syncing your device contacts
When you turn on contact sync, SharEat reads the phone numbers in your device’s address book to check which contacts have already signed up for SharEat.
If your contacts join SharEat later, we may also update your contact list so you can find them more easily.
SharEat only uses phone numbers to match accounts and does not use them for any other purpose.
If your address book includes people who are not yet on SharEat, we handle their information securely to protect their privacy.
Saving contacts to your SharEat account
You can also choose to save your SharEat contacts to your account.
That way, you can restore your saved contacts even if you change devices or reinstall the app.
SharEat only saves the names and phone numbers of contacts who use SharEat.
Controlling your contact data
At any time, you can go to:
Settings > Privacy > Contacts
to manage the following:
- Turn contact sync on or off
- Delete contacts saved on SharEat
- Stop saving contacts to your SharEat account
If you delete your SharEat account, all contact data saved in it will be deleted too.
